Dear
Rod Raubeson,
Your display
of compassion has made a considerable difference to us
With a
deep gratitude we wish to express our appreciation for the
kindness you have shown to our son, our soldiers,
and their families, to America and the citizens of the free
world.
Thanks
for this timely reminder for those like yourself who have
served, those who are serving and those who paid the ultimate
price to keep us free.
The sacrifices
and those who have lost love ones, their place with our Lord
in heaven has already been reserved, yet,
we should thank them each day to let them know how much they
truly are appreciated and remembered.
We would
like to express our sincere gratitude for your fine tribute,
Service Star Banners, to our brave soldiers and for your Blessing;
we will pass them on to our son and tell him to relay it to
the valiant troops.
Thank
you again and may God continue to Bless You all the days of
your life.

"It is, in a way, an odd thing to
honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense
of us, in wars far away. The imagination plays a trick. We
see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them
as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray haired
But most of them were boys when they died,
and they gave up two lives - the one they were living and
the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up
their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers.
They gave up their chance to everything for our country, for
us.
And all we can do is remember"
- President Ronald Reagan
